17 years of Timorese-led development in Lautem
Founded in 2007, FUNDAMOR (Fundasaun Amizade Tamba Amor) exists to give rural children a quality education, rural women a real voice, and rural communities the water and governance systems they need to adapt and thrive.
Our story
From a village friendship fund to a national civil-society partner
FUNDAMOR was established in 2007 under its full name, Fundasaun Amizade Tamba Amor (Foundation of Friendship Through Love), and became a member of FONGTIL, Timor-Leste's national NGO forum, in December 2007.
In 2013, FUNDAMOR was formally registered with the Ministry of Justice of Timor-Leste under register number 176/NRN-MJ/XII/2013. Today, FUNDAMOR holds full membership in three national civil-society networks: the Timor-Leste Coalition for Education (TLCE), the Civil Society Education Partnership (SCEPTL), and Rede Feto Timor-Leste, reflecting our work across children's education, rural economic development and women's capacity building.
FUNDAMOR founded
Established as Fundasaun Amizade Tamba Amor; joins FONGTIL in December.
Formal registration
Registered with the Ministry of Justice of Timor-Leste (No. 176/NRN-MJ/XII/2013).
Network membership grows
Becomes a full member of TLCE, SCEPTL and Rede Feto Timor-Leste.
34 villages and counting
Operating across 34 sucos in Lautem, with a 5-year plan to scale into new municipalities.

Our vision and mission
The Vision
By 2030, children will receive quality and inclusive basic education, and women and youth will live healthy, productive lives, participating fully in peace-building, economic development and poverty alleviation.
The Mission
- Support the development of basic schools through construction, and evaluate the implementation of public policies related to quality education.
- Provide technical training to village women farmers and community leaders to build their capacity in economic diversification and climate adaptation.
- Conduct research, surveys and advocacy for sustainable economic development that contributes to the well-being of children and women.
Governance
A structure built for accountability
Governance runs from an independent board through to community-based cadres who carry programs into every suco.
Board of Directors
5 members, 3 of whom are women. Provides governance and strategic oversight.
Executive Director
Overall management, government relations and organisational leadership.
Program Team
Civil Engineer, WASH Engineer, Climate Adaptation Officer, and Gender & Community Mobilization Officer.
Field Team
3 District Coordinators based directly in target municipalities.
Community Cadre
30 Women Disaster Focal Points and 30 young women trained in community assessment, the backbone of local delivery.

The team carries 7 years of collective experience in WASH, climate adaptation and working with municipal governments. All field staff are Tetum speakers from the regions they serve.
